Bu güne kadar kültür ortamında yetişmesi sağlanamayan orkide türlerinin doğal sığınağı olarak kabul edilen bölgede tamamı kritik olarak yok olma tehdidi altında bulunan ve yapılaşma baskısıyla hızlı habitat kaybı yaşandığı belirtilen türler arasında ayrıca, Anadolu Orkidesi (Orchis anatolica), Arı Orkide (Ophrys holoserica subsp. heterochila Endemik), İtalik Orkide (Orchis italica), Dev Orkide (Barlia robertiana), Peşmen Kardeleni ( Galanthus peschmenii), Olimpos Şalbası (Dorystoechas hastata), Topuz Dikeni (Echinops onopordum) ve yöreye has bir kekik türü olan (Origanum solymicum) gibi bitkiler bulunuyor.

ANTALYA’NIN BEŞİ BİR YERDE PROJESİNE DARBE

Kesme Boğazı’nda yapılan bilimsel çalışmalarda 51 familyaya ait 32'si endemik olmak üzere 111 bitki türünün tespit edildiği bilgisini veren uzmanlar, söz konusu bitkilerin bir kısmının dar yayılışlı türler olduğunu belirtirken, yöre endemiklerinin çeşitli kriterler altında yok olma riskiyle karşı karşıya olduğu uyarısında bulunuyor. HES projesinin tehdit ettiği türlerden ikisi olan Kemer Orkidesi ve Olimpos Safranı, WWF Türkiye tarafından desteklenen 'Antalya'nın Beşi Bir Yerde' projesi kapsamında korunmaya çalışılıyor.
